Tonight we are drinking one of the rarest sparkling wines IN THE WORLD! Manz Jampal Reserva Brut Nature 2018 is a small production, high quality, traditional method sparkling. This is the only sparkling wine in the world made with the Jampal grape. How do we know this? Because Manz is the only winery in the world that has this grape. What a surprise these last 3 days have been. We were told....."close in January, it's dead" and "it's not worth the electricity to open up". It has been a great few days though so thanks for your support and for sharing our last post. We had loads of people coming in saying they saw our social media post about being open! So we decided to open our top Pinot Noir this evening to celebrate. The amazing Hand Selection 2017 from Landauer-Gisperg in Austria. Wonderful tertiary forest, mushroomy notes with elegance, length and complexity on the palate. The cork made me giggle as well. Delicious is an understatement if you love pinot noir!

Tonight, to celebrate a lovely instagram post from the wonderful @girlaroundnorthnorfolk about our brand new shop, we thought we would open a bottle of this beautiful South African Minimalist Grenache Noir. If you like lighter reds then this is a beauty. This 12% wine from Sam Lambson is fruity (especially strawberry and other summer red fruit), delicate, pure and yet full of flavour. It takes a good winemaker to make a wine of this quality with so little alcohol. This one off release is a wonderful alternative for Pinot Noir lovers! Bravo @samlambson

Wow what an afternoon we had yesterday at our Lazy Sunday Tasting! It was a busy day but a lot of fun and we have raised a great amount for the village hall fundraiser. We had a full house (maybe a little too full, but we live and learn) and the compliments were fantastic. Thanks to Richard and Robert for showing their wines. Thanks to Sarah and Micheal for jumping in and hosting 2 tables. Thanks to Jamie for his amazing spanish guitar playing and finally thanks to everyone for coming along. VinedMe at Walsingham is hiring. We will soon need some staff to help in the shop, serve customers and support our parent company, Marta Vine Ltd. It would be great if you could share this post to spread the word! A lot of people think that working in the wine business is snooty and exclusive. It can be, but not with us! Let me tell you about us first: 🍷Marta Vine were voted the 4th best supplier in the UK to the independent trade this year. 🍷We supply a diverse range of shops, pubs, wine bars and restaurants all over the UK. A lot of our customers are also our friends. We have really strong ties! 🍷We have been growing consistently for 14 years with a small team. Now we are ready to expand. 🍷The move to Walsingham is part of our expansion. We have created a Marta Vine head office here and we are finalising the VinedMe direct to consumer outlet. 🍷VinedMe will be a wine shop were you can sit down and enjoy a glass of wine, beer or other beverage. This is called the hybrid model and should be open in the next 3 weeks. 🍷The people we are looking for should be fun, enthusiastic, welcoming and flexible. VM is a new company so we don't know how busy we will be, but if all goes to plan......we will all have plenty of work hours for all! 🍷We will need full time and part time workers and the successful applicants will receive training to learn more about the wine world and all its delicious products. 🍷The opening hours are likely to be 10am to 9pm at weekends. A bit of a long video, but watch to the end for free wine 🍾 Yes you heard me, free wine 🍷 We are moving along nicely at 2 Wells Road and this week should see a massive development in our main wine room!

Progress has slowed at little at 2 Wells Road lately as we have been with our trade customers on a wine trip in Portugal! Here you can see us celebrating being judged in 1st place in a blending competition judged by the wine making legend Osvaldo Amado! So you know our pedigree 😉😂 For those that don't know, VinedMe is the retail branch of Marta Vine Ltd. We have been importing wines and selling them to independent wine shops and bars all over the UK for nearly 14 years. So while we are setting up our shop we are still travelling nationwide (and here Europewide) doing tastings and meeting and treating customers. So 2 Wells Road will not only be our retail side, but also our head office for Marta Vine with plenty of visits from shop owners and wine makers! We hope to do wine trips with VinedMe customers if the interest is there as well! Fancy that? So apologies for the slow down lately, but big changes will appear in the next fortnight 🤞

🍺 OUR 1ST NORFOLK BEER SAMPLES HAVE ARRIVED 🍻 Thanks so much to Duration Beer from near Kings Lynn for sending us 6 of their core range. The cans look beautiful and I am sure the beers taste even better. WORK SHOULD ALWAYS BE AS MUCH FUN AS THIS! We had a great day at the Speciality Food Fair in London on Tuesday. Our search has started for high quality ingredients for our small plate list that will match our wines! We are not going to be a restaurant, but we will have some small plates that will be iberian inspired to match a glass of wine. We have a good idea what we want, but sourcing the best ingredients is our priority. We will use local businesses and ingredients where possible (of course 😉), but some things have to come from other suppliers!

It's far too nice to be inside decorating today so I thought I would take my new orange trainers for a bike ride! Lovely light lunch @binham_chequers and now to return! Licence permitting 🤞 we will be announcing our first wine tasting events soon so make sure you follow us on insta and FB to join in!

What a week.....things are coming along nicely!

Mrs VinedMe, aka Marta, is taking a break after a morning trying to wedge the contents of our old kitchen cupboards into the new ones! Where did we used to keep it all? Lucky we have such a gorgeous yard to relax in. Can't wait to have it open for all our visitors! Now Marta......get back to work!

Most of the wines that we import are organic and every January we go to the world's largest organic wine fair in Montpellier, Millesime Bio. There are over 1500 producers there from all over the world. Here we source new and exciting wines to sell to our trade clients (all over the UK) and soon to our VinedMe customers in Norfolk. So excited 😊 Organic wines are free of additives such as refined sugar, sulphuric acids and fining and clarification agents. Organic winemaking practices avoid using chemicals and promote biodiversity in our environment. Many of them are also members of sustainability schemes that also promote local employment in their often poorer rural areas, use clean energy and recycle water on their farms. This is just the start of the benefits. We plan to have a positive impact where possible at VM Walsingham. Lighter bottles, offsetting our CO2 with tree replanting schemes, buying local where possible and maybe delivery with electric vans or a bike with a trailer 😀 We will constantly be evolving to be the greenest we can be and look after the beautiful Norfolk countryside and environment. #Norfolk #organic #sustainability #organicfarming #northnorfolk #wine #walsingham

We import from and work with some of the very best winemakers around. For 13 years they have been visiting the UK and we have been taking them to our trade customers all around the country to host wine tastings for their clients. Now we are really looking forward to adding tasting nights at VinedMe Walsingham when they visit the UK. Showcasing amazing wines and sharing their knowledge and stories direct from the winemakers mouth! Don't worry Marta Vine clients, we will continue to visit you, but now we will convince them to stay an extra night for us and the people of Norfolk 😉

ATTENTION NORFOLK! VinedMe already import wines from Portugal, Spain, France, Austria, Croatia, New Zealand, Argentina, Italy and Germany through our parent company Marta Vine. Many of these are organic and/or sustainable as we love working with people that care about the soil and the local people. Now we are starting the search for local Norfolk suppliers. If anyone can recommend Norfolk beer, spirit or wine producers that would like us to represent them please let us know. Quality is paramount and we like to have a relationship with our suppliers rather than buying through wholesalers. Then we can do events together, have some fun and support each other! We are aiming to be open in late September so we would love to have everything in place by then! We really want to be able to showcase the best that Norfolk has to offer alongside our delicious wines from all over the globe 😊

Happy Portugal Day 🇵🇹 Today this celebration of my home country has even more significance as it is the start of a new era for Marta Vine! Some of you already know that our dream of relocating our business was close, but today we have put pen to paper and it is a reality. Marta Vine is moving to North Norfolk. 10 minutes from the coast at Walsingham. Here we will have our office, warehouse AND wine shop/ enoteca! We are moving next month, but the business will not be open until September. We are building a place for our trade customers to come and stay and try new wines. Bringing Portuguese vineyard hospitality to the UK! More details to come.
